Jeff Brohm is adding a little assistance to his staff.

On Wednesday, Purdue announced that has hired former UAB head coach Neil Callaway as a senior analyst. He was most recently the offensive line coach at USC, where he served in that role from 2016-17. Callaway was also on Brohm’s staff at Western Kentucky in 2014-15, also as the offensive line coach.

Callaway, 64, was the head coach at UAB from 2007-11, compiling an 18-42 record in five years with the Blazers. In total, Callaway brings nearly 40 years of coaching experience to West Lafayette. Most of that experience comes in the SEC.

From 1981-92, Callaway was the offensive line coach at Auburn and became the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Houston in 1993, where he served until 1996. Callaway was then the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Alabama (1997-2000) and Georgia (2001-06).

Purdue is coming off  a 4-8 campaign in 2019. The Boilermakers did not play in a bowl game for the first time under Brohm.
