Jeff Brohm discusses Aidan O'Connell's Week 5 performance, previews QBs status for Week 6
Jeff Brohm hasn’t confirmed if senior quarterback Aidan O’Connell is set to play in the Week 6 game at Maryland after the 20-10 road win No. 21 Minnesota. Brohm confirmed he will normally prepare in pads to determine his availability.
Jeff Brohm on Aidan O'Connell: "He really didn't practice until Thursday, and that's a lighter practice for us. I think he felt like he could probably go then. But we wanted to continue to see how he was Friday and even today. We got the other quarterbacks ready to go."

Will Aidan O'Connell be OK for next week at Maryland?
Jeff Brohm: "We'll see how he comes out of it. We had him all padded up and I'm hoping that he'd come out of it pretty well and be ready again next week."

O’Connell played for the first time since the Week 3 32-29 road loss to Syracuse. It was nor reported what type of injury he suffered that made him miss the Week 4 matchup in the 28-26 home win over Florida Atlantic.
In the game against No. 21 Minnesota, O’Connell completed 27-of-40 of his passes for 199 yards, 2 interceptions, and a QBR of 61.7. He averaged 5 yards per completion against the defense of the Golden Gophers.
Purdue outgained Minnesota in total yards accounted for 359-to-304. The defense for Purdue held Minnesota to 47 rushing yards.
Some of O’Connell’s struggles can likely be attributed to the short week of practice for the QB. Minnesota also has a quality defense in a tough road environment for Week 5.
