Jeff Brohm gives numerous injury updates for Purdue ahead of matchup against Iowa
Purdue, through Week 7, is 2-4 overall. The Boilermakers’ season hasn’t gone according to plan, but part of that has to do with injuries.
The team’s best defensive player (arguably) in linebacker Markus Bailey was lost for the year early in the season. Then, against Minnesota, Purdue lost quarterback Elijah Sindelar and wide receiver Rondale Moore for the foreseeable future.

All in all, injuries have hurt Purdue. Nobody can deny that. And on Thursday, ahead of the team’s game against Iowa, Boilermakers coach Jeff Brohm spoke with the media about numerous injured players:
Jeff Brohm injury updates:
• WR Jared Sparks: "Jared Sparks will be a game-time decision."
• DT Anthony Watts: "Anthony has come a long very fast. So if he's able to play, it'll be close to a miracle. He’s gotta chance, so we’ll see how he feels come Saturday morning."— Tom Dienhart (@TomDienhart1) October 17, 2019
Jeff Brohm update on LB Cornel Jones:
• "I know he’s out for the game. Unfortunately he’s injured and we're gonna try to get him back as fast as we can."— Tom Dienhart (@TomDienhart1) October 17, 2019
Jeff Brohm on CB Kenneth Major: "Kenneth has had some issues and missed some practice. He also will be a game-time decision. I would guess he's probable. But he has missed some practice time for sure."
