Jeff Brohm got told that Jared Sparks' TD vs. Missouri shouldn't have been overturned
It was a TD after all.
Jared Sparks was thrown a pass from QB David Blough — who had a monster day against Missouri in Week 3 — in the fourth quarter when Purdue trailed 37-34. Sparks appeared to catch the ball in the end zone, obviously resulting in a TD.
The play then got reviewed and overturned. Sparks didn’t get the TD. Purdue had to settle for a field goal, which tied the game at 34.
Missouri then drove down the field to win the game on a kick, 37-34. On Thursday, five days after the game concluded, Purdue coach Jeff Brohm was told that Sparks should have indeed scored a TD on that play.
#Purdue head coach @JeffBrohm said today he’s received correspondence from @bigten officials that the Sparks review shouldn’t have been unturned by replay. Brohm confirmed he has been told the Sparks TD should’ve stood as called on the field.
