Speaking to the media following Thursday’s practice, Purdue Boilermakers head coach Jeff Brohm issued a positive update on redshirt senior quarterback Elijah Sindelar.

Tom Dienhart of GoldandBlack.com shared Brohm’s comments on Twitter:

Suffering a concussion late in Purdue’s victory over Vanderbilt on September 7, Sindelar still needs to clear the school’s concussion protocol.

Completing 68-104 passes, he has thrown for 932 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions in two games in 2019.

Starting in Sindelar’s place, redshirt freshman Jack Plummer struggled in the team’s last game, a 34-13 home loss to the TCU Horned Frogs on September 14.

Facing the Minnesota Golden Gophers in their B1G-opener on Saturday, the Boilermakers would certainly benefit from Sindelar’s services. Recording just 204 total yards vs. TCU, Purdue averaged 529.5 yards per game with Sindelar calling the signals.

Saturday’s action from Ross-Ade Stadium in West Lafayette will get underway at 3:30PM ET and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
