Jeff Brohm on Louisville rumors: 'I've heard the noise'
It is no secret Jeff Brohm has deep connections to Louisville, and he took time Monday to address the head coaching vacancy of the Cardinals.
Brohm spent his college career at Louisville as quarterback of the Cardinals. He also returned as an assistant coach under Bobby Petrino who was fired over the weekend.
Due to his history with the Cardinals, Brohm was among those rumored to be on Louisville’s list of candidates for the opening. Though everything is just chatter at this point, Brohm addressed the rumors during his weekly press conference.
He admitted he has heard the noise like everyone else, but he declined to comment on speculation. However, he maintained that his focus is on helping Purdue win the final two games of the season.
Jeff Brohm on Louisville speculation: "I've hear the noise just like anyone else. It's important for me not to comment on any speculation. We've got work to do. And a lot of it."

Brohm says he understands the speculation. He says his players trust him and what he’s all about. More focused on the Boilermakers’ disappointing loss to Minnesota and upcoming games with Wisconsin (Senior Day) and Old Oaken Bucket game at IU Nov. 24.

Brohm went on to point out that talk about the opening does not occur often with his players. He reiterated that he will be upfront and honest with the team throughout the process as he has been in the past:
Jeff Brohm on if recruits have asked about the Louisville speculation: "It's probably happened way less than you think. Our guys know we're going to be honest and up front… That's the way we did it last year (with Tennessee speculation)."

None of this means Brohm is staying or leaving. However, it does sound like he is focused on finishing the season strong with the Boilermakers.
