When the injury bug hits Purdue, it hits hard.
Boilermakers coach Jeff Brohm announced a myriad of injury updates in his weekly press conference Monday morning — including star wide receiver David Bell, who suffered a concussion against Notre Dame.
Bell’s not the only Boilermaker who’s banged up, though. Here’s who else is hurt:
Jeff Brohm: G/T Cam Craig has been dealing with some injuries, which is why he didn't play last week. Purdue played just five OLs last week. Could play this week if he is OK.

Jeff Brohm: King Doerue has a medical condition, not COVID related. Unsure when he will be available.

Jeff Brohm: WR David Bell remains in protocol.

Jeff Brohm: Payne Durham, Branson Deen are in concussion protocol.
DaMarcus Mitchell banged up.

That’s quite the list.
Purdue is coming off a 13-9 win over Illinois in a battle of field goals. The Boilermakers scored the only touchdown of the game with 5:44 left in the game and made a quarterback switch in the second half. With Minnesota looming for this week’s homecoming game, it’ll be interesting to see how Purdue approaches the matchup with so many injuries.
