Boilermakers head coach Jeff Brohm has received a distinct honor after his team’s showing against the Hawkeyes on Saturday.

He got this week’s Dodd Trophy, which goes to the coach of the week during the season.

Brohm’s Boilermakers were more than ready for that matchup. Quarterback Aidan O’Connell had perhaps his finest performance of his career as he finished with 375 yards passing and 2 touchdowns.

Receiver David Bell also had another stellar performance against the Hawkeyes for the 3rd season in a row. This was his best one as he finished with 11 receptions for 240 yards, plus a touchdown.

Purdue’s defense also stifled Iowa’s offense as the unit intercepted Spencer Petras 4 times. That was the biggest reason why Purdue was able to hold Iowa scoreless for 3 of the 4 quarters.

The win got Purdue into the AP Top-25 for the first time in 14 years and the team will look to continue its hot streak this Saturday when Wisconsin comes to town. Kickoff will be at 3 p.m. ET.
