Brohm’s Boilermakers were more than ready for that matchup. Quarterback Aidan O’Connell had perhaps his finest performance of his career as he finished with 375 yards passing and 2 touchdowns.
Receiver David Bell also had another stellar performance against the Hawkeyes for the 3rd season in a row. This was his best one as he finished with 11 receptions for 240 yards, plus a touchdown.
Purdue’s defense also stifled Iowa’s offense as the unit intercepted Spencer Petras 4 times. That was the biggest reason why Purdue was able to hold Iowa scoreless for 3 of the 4 quarters.
The win got Purdue into the AP Top-25 for the first time in 14 years and the team will look to continue its hot streak this Saturday when Wisconsin comes to town. Kickoff will be at 3 p.m. ET.
