Purdue wasn’t supposed to do what it did on Saturday.

What it did was crush Maryland, 40-14. Next week, Purdue plays at Iowa.

After the game, Boilermakers coach Jeff Brohm talked about not just the game as a whole, but his freshmen and the type of impact they are having:

David Bell is an electrifying play-maker at wide receiver as a freshman. He’s had a chance to shine the last few weeks with Rondale Moore out with a knee injury. In this game, Bell had nine catches for 138 yards and 2 TD.

Brohm also talked a bit about Cory Trice, a freshman DB. Trice had a pick-six and two INTs in this game alone.

Purdue also got a four-star tight end recruit to commit earlier this week, showcasing that the pass-catchers are continuing to buy into what Brohm and the Boilermakers are selling.
