Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm gave some injury updates on some of his offensive players on Thursday afternoon that the fanbase won’t take kindly to.

Running backs Zander Horvath and Ja’Quez Cross won’t be active against Wisconsin, and neither will tight end Garrett Miller, which are huge losses. Pass rusher DaMarcus Mitchell is expected to play, though.

Both Horvath and Cross are used as depth backs even though the former has gotten more playing time. Horvath has 89 yards on 23 carries with 1 touchdown this season. Cross has just 13 carries for 27 yards and no touchdowns through 6 games.

Miller is in his sophomore season and already has outperformed where he was as a freshman. That said, he won’t be available after he notched 7 receptions for 47 yards in 6 games.

Mitchell has been one of the Boilermakers’ best players along the defensive line. He has 11 total tackles (8 solo) with 1.5 sacks so having him available will be crucial for getting to Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz

Kickoff will be at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday.
