The third year of the Jeff Brohm era at Purdue gets underway on Friday night, as Purdue travels to Reno to open the year against Nevada.

In a desert climate, the Boilermakers will try to stay as cool as possible and revealed which uniform combination they’ll run with on Friday night. There will be no black on the field for the Old Gold and Black.

Purdue is going with a gold helmet, white jersey and white pants combination for the season opener. Not a bad idea for a game with a projected high temperature.

Reno will see a major temperature change throughout the day. There will be a high of 92 degrees, with the low plummeting to a modest 58 degrees.

Friday’s matchup between the Boilermakers and Wolf Pack is the second-ever meeting between the two programs. Purdue defeated Nevada in 2016 at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Kickoff is scheduled for 9:30 ET and the game will air on CBSSN.
