The hiring of Marty Biagi has been made official. Purdue released a statement on Tuesday to introduce the newest member of Jeff Brohm’s staff for the 2020 season.

Biagi comes to Purdue after spending the last three seasons at North Texas. He will be the special teams coordinator for the Boilermakers, as well as a defensive assistant.

“Marty is one of the leading coaches and brightest minds in the area of special teams,” Brohm said in a statement. “We are very excited to have him here.”

During Biagi’s time at North Texas, the Mean Green scored six touchdowns on special teams and blocked a total of 13 punts, field goals and extra points. The team won nine games each of the last two seasons.

Prior to his time at North Texas, Biagi had stops at Notre Dame (2016) and South Dakota (2015).

Purdue finished the 2019 season with a 4-8 record.
