Mason Gillis went off in a big way Wednesday night. He helped jumpstart Purdue off the bench to an 80-60 blowout home win over Penn State.

Gillis came off the bench to lead all scorers with 29 points in Wednesday night’s game with a particularly hot shooting night. He went 9-for-12 from 3-point range, setting a Mackey Arena record for 3-point field goals in a single game.

His record-setting shot came with just over 5 minutes left in the game. He would come up just short of 30 points in a game and just missed tying Purdue’s program record for 3-point field goals in a single game of 10.

“Feels amazing. I’m kind of at a loss for words right now, just put a lot of work into it,” Gillis said immediately after the game.

With the win, Purdue improves to 22-1 overall and will maintain its No. 1 national ranking for a while longer.
