Purdue and Auburn will be playing in front of a pretty large crowd for the Music City Bowl on Dec. 29.

According to Mike Carmin of the Journal & Courier, Music City Bowl officials have announced that approximately 57,000 tickets have been sold for Friday’s matchup between the Boilermakers and Tigers. That’s a pretty good figure for December in Nashville.

Purdue finished the year 6-6 and Auburn was 7-5.

Nashville is a nice midway point between the two schools. And a B1G-SEC matchup always draws plenty of intrigue.

The Music City Bowl will mark the first matchup between Purdue and Auburn on the gridiron in history. The Boilermakers have already fallen to an SEC foe this season, losing to Missouri in a shootout in West Lafayette.

Kickoff from Nashville is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET.
