It looked like Purdue was going to go down without a whimper, but that’s not the case now.

The Boilermakers had a crazy end to the 1st half as they scored 16 unanswered points to go up 23-21 into the break.

They hit 3 field goals to cut the Vols lead to 21-16 before getting a late touchdown off a turnover. Quarterback Hendon Hooker fumbled while attempting a pass and Purdue was able to recover.

2 plays later, Purdue took the lead as quarterback Aidan O’Connell hit Payne Durham for an easy touchdown. O’Connell sold the fake very well and Durham was wide open for the score.

Purdue was down 21-7 after the 1st quarter as Hooker was on fire at the time. He still has 191 yards and 2 touchdowns overall, but he was a lot more limited in the 2nd quarter.

Purdue is trying to finish 9-4 overall, while Tennessee is trying to finish 8-5.
