More honors are pouring in for Elijah Sindelar, after a huge showing in Purdue’s win over Vanderbilt on Saturday.

Sindelar has been named the Rose Bowl Game’s B1G Player of the Week after throwing for 509 yards and five touchdowns on 34-of-52 pass attempts. He guided the Boilermakers to a 42-24 victory over the Commodores to bring Purdue’s record to 1-1 on the season.

With the 500-plus yard performance, Sindelar became just the third quarterback in Purdue history to throw for over 400 yards in back-to-back games. Drew Brees and Jim Everett were the other two.

In two games this season, Sindelar has thrown for 932 yards and nine touchdowns. Both totals are at the top of the B1G and the nation through the first two weeks of the season.

Sindelar was also named the B1G Offensive Player of the Week on Monday morning.

Purdue now shifts its focus to TCU for its final non-conference game of the season. The Horned Frogs come to West Lafayette with a 1-0 record and are coming off a bye week.
