One year and counting: Purdue WR David Bell has an incredible streak of big games
Purdue wide receiver David Bell had a big game Saturday against Illinois.
What else is new?
Against the Illini, Bell recorded his eighth 100-yard receiving game in just 14 career games, and his program record fifth-straight. He finished the game with 122 yards on nine receptions and a touchdown.
Bell currently leads the B1G in receptions with 22, yards with 243, touchdowns with four, and yards per game with 121.5. His average for yards per game ranks eighth nationally.
As a freshman, Bell had 86 catches for 1,035 yards and seven touchdowns, in 12 games.
The last time David Bell 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 have 💯+ receiving yards in a game? One year ago, yesterday.
Yeah, that's five-straight games and a program record.

Unfortunately, Purdue fans have not had the opportunity to see a lot of Rondale Moore and Bell on the field at the same time. Moore missed a lot of time with injury in 2019 and has yet to see the field this season.
It is awesome to see Bell make the most of the opportunity, but hopefully there is still time for Bell and Moore to play alongside each other this season.
