Purdue added yet another commit to its 2023 class Tuesday morning, adding a pledge from 3-star Hurricane High School edge rusher Mondrell Dean.

Dean played both sides of the ball at Hurricane High in West Virginia. His junior season he totaled 62 tackles, also rushing for 776 yards on offense.

He committed to Purdue over Miami (OH), Central Michigan and Cincinnati.

Dean could play multiple different positions at Purdue under newly-hired HC Ryan Walters. He is, however, rated as the No. 132 overall edge rusher in the class and the No. 4 player out of West Virginia, per 247Sports’ composite rankings.

Purdue currently holds a commitment from 1 other true edge rusher in the 2023 cycle, 3-star Will Heldt out of Carmel, Indiana.
