Purdue picked up a hometown prospect Monday evening on the recruiting trail.

The player is Mariere Omonode, a defensive lineman out of West Lafayette High School. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 260 lbs., Omonode is unrated by the industry-generated composite rankings and has earned offers from Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Ball State, Marshall, and Eastern Michigan, among others.

He shared his commitment on Twitter:

Omonode joins a recent group of West Lafayette players to commit to the Boilermakers. Current Purdue defenders George and Yanni Karlaftis also hail from West Lafayette High School.

Jeff Brohm’s 2022 recruiting class is now up to 18 total commitments with the class ranked 37th nationally for the cycle. 4-star QB Brady Allen out ofย  Fort Branch, Indiana headlines that group.
