Purdue sets up home-and-home with SEC school
Another battle between the B1G and SEC is set.
Well, we have to wait three more years…and then another 10 after that.
Purdue announced on Thursday that it locked down a home-and-home series with Vanderbilt, in 2019 and 2029. The Boilermakers will host the Commodores on Sept. 7, 2019 and will travel to Nashville on Sept. 8, 2029.
Purdue will have a chance to earn its first victory against Vanderbilt, which holds a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series. The last time the Boilermakers squared off with the Commodores was in 1942.
The last time Purdue faced an SEC school was Georgia in 2004 when it fell in the Capital One Bowl. The Boilermakers will end that streak in 2017 when they travel take on Missouri.
Purdue is 10-8 all-time in meetings against SEC schools.
