Purdue adds to 2021 recruiting class with pledge from Michigan WR
Purdue’s recruiting class has received a new addition, this time from a Michigan wide receiver.
On Wednesday, the Boilermakers received a verbal pledge from three-star receiver Deion Burks, a native of Belleville, Michigan. He becomes the eighth player to commit to Jeff Brohm and company during the 2021 recruiting cycle. Burks held offers from 17 other programs.
Burks posted a video to his Twitter account to make his announcement.

Burks is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound receiver who has great speed and can be an explosive player. In Purdue’s high-powered passing attack, he’ll have the chance to use his quickness in multiple situations on the field.
His experience as a two-sport athlete — football and track — will also translate well to Purdue’s offense.
Along with Purdue, Burks had offers from Indiana, Rutgers, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kentucky and Boston College. He also held several Group of Five offers.
With Burks’ commitment, Purdue’s 2021 class ranks 43rd nationally and 12th in the B1G.
