Purdue coach Jeff Brohm has announced that starting offensive lineman Cam Craig is out of the season after having surgery recently.
Brohm confirmed the news during his weekly press conference on Monday morning.

That’s a tough break for the Boilermakers. Craig was Purdue’s starting left guard prior to suffering this injury in Week 1.
However, Spencer Holstege played well vs. Illinois in Week 2 as Craig’s replacement.
Spencer Holstege has exceeded expectations at LG. Also can play C. Is tough. Wants to get better.

Still, the timing is not ideal for the Boilermakers. Purdue matches up with Northwestern this week, and the Wildcats have one of the nation’s top defenses. They’ve yet to allow a second-half point this season.
There was a little bit of good news for the Boilermakers, as Brohm seemed optimistic they would get back a few other injured players this week.
"Hopeful" to get other injured players back as soon as we can.

Purdue and Northwestern will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
