Purdue’s 2020 recruiting class received its first commitment on Wednesday night.

Jaden Ivey, a 6-foot-2 shooting guard announced his commitment to Purdue through Twitter. He’s the first player to give a pledge to the Boilermakers in the 2020 class.

“I’m excited to announce my commitment to Purdue University! Boiler Up!” Ivey wrote in a message Wednesday afternoon.

Ivey is ranked as the No. 6 player in the state of Indiana and is the No. 52 shooting guard in the class. The three-star prospect received plenty of interest from several programs, especially the powers in-state.

Along with Purdue, Ivey received offers from Notre Dame and Butler.

Head coach Matt Painter has done an excellent job recruiting in-state talent for the Boilermakers. Along with Ivey’s commitment in the 2020 class, all three of Purdue’s 2019 signees are also from Indiana.  That class ranked 47th nationally and seventh in the B1G.
