Purdue CB ejected for targeting against Penn State

Purdue faces the very difficult task of stopping the Penn State offense on the road Saturday. But that objective got even harder early during the game.
Boilermakers freshman cornerback Cam Allen received an ejection for a targeting penalty during the first quarter. Check out the replay below:

There is often a lot of gray area when it comes to targeting penalties and ejections in college football, but not with this one. Allen clearly lowered his head and led with his helmet into Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford, who was already in his slide.
Allen will be out for the rest of the game, but he will be eligible to return next Saturday against Maryland.
Purdue trails Penn State, 21-0, at the end of the first quarter.
