Purdue delivers perfectly succinct troll job following upset of No. 2 Iowa
The trolling from team social media pages continues to be at their best and consistently petty this season.
After Purdue’s shocking upset over No. 2 Iowa 24-7 on the road, the Twitter page of the Boilermakers created a tweet that perfectly captured the feeling of the moment.
“We just beat the No. 2 out of Iowa,” it said.
We just beat the No. 2 out of Iowa.

Purdue dominated Iowa on both sides of the ball on the road. The offense for the Boilermakers accounted for 464 total yards and 24 first downs. Aidan O’Connell threw for 375 yards and 2 touchdowns on 30-for-40 passing. Wide receiver David Bell caught 11 receptions for 240 yards and a touchdown.
The defense of Purdue held Iowa to only 195 total yards accounted for and 17 first downs accounted for. Purdue also forced 4 interceptions from Spencer Petras. Purdue beat Iowa in their own game by winning the turnover battle and the time of possession battle.
The last time Purdue defeated a No. 2 ranked team was in 2018 when they dominated No. 2 Ohio State 49-20 that kept the Buckeyes out of the College Football Playoff.
