Purdue is in the driver’s seat for a boost to its pass rush for 2025, with former Auburn edge TJ Lindsey expected to join the Boilermakers next fall.

That’s according to a report by Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of CBS Sports and 247Sports on Saturday.

The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder who starred at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, was a 4-star recruit from the Class of 2024. Lindsey was a true freshman this past season on the Plains but only appeared sparingly for the Tigers and eventually redshirted, so he’ll bring 4 years of eligibility with him to Purdue.

Lindsey played in a couple of different spots up front for the Tigers’ defensive line in 2024. But his only recorded stats came in the season opener against Alabama A&M, when he tallied 2 tackles. Lindsey was working with Auburn’s scout team during practice throughout this past season.

He’ll now attempt to get a lot more playing time next fall in the Big Ten with Purdue, which could use any kind of depth piece following a disastrous 1-11 season in 2024.

Lindsey was ranked in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite as the No. 324 player and 40th-ranked defensive lineman in the 2024 class, so the Boilermakers would be getting a talented player who just didn’t pan out in his 1 season at Auburn.
