Purdue fans threw teddy bears onto the court at a home game to donate to families in need
Sports can bring people together. It isn’t about just winning sometimes. It’s about making a difference.
On Saturday afternoon, Purdue’s women’s basketball team hosted Bowling Green. The Boilermakers are currently 8-3 overall. But more importantly, they were helping families in need on Saturday.
How?
Fans were encouraged to throw teddy bears onto the court at one point. All the donated teddy bears were going to the Lafayette Urban Ministries. It is an organization that serves as a social safety net for Lafayette’s needy children and families according to fumcwl.org.

This is awesome stuff. Again, sports are great because of the games themselves. But when a positive difference can be made, that’s what makes sports amazing.
