Purdue will face Arizona in a nonconference showdown in Indianapolis this December, according to a report.

College basketball insider Jon Rothstein was first to report that news on Friday afternoon. The game is set to be played at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Dec. 16, per Rothstein’s report.

Purdue is expected to be one of the best teams in the country again in 2023-24. The Boilermakers return National Player of the Year Zach Edey as well as guards Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer.

Arizona is also a candidate to be a preseason top-10 team next season. The Wildcats have been active in the transfer portal, adding players such as Caleb Love, Keshad Johnson and Jaden Bradley.

The Wildcats are set to play a loaded nonconference schedule next season. The slate includes Purdue, Duke, Alabama, Michigan State and Wisconsin.

This will be the 12th all-time meeting between Arizona and Purdue. The Boilermakers currently hold the all-time edge, 6-5.

The game has not been officially announced by either program.
