More and more college football programs are giving insider access, and Purdue is just the latest.

Announced by president Mark Silverman, the Big Ten Network will feature the Boilermakers in an upcoming series during this year’s training camp. Gold and Black Days will debut on August 14 and run for four weeks until the first week of the season.

Similarly, ESPN announced that it will feature Alabama in a four-part upcoming series just prior to the season. Much like the NFL Films’ and HBO’s Hard Knocks, insider access to programs creates great exposure for coaches, teams and players. It can be used as a recruiting tool, as high school players get a look at what college football is really like. Purdue is also coming off of its best recruiting class in over a decade.

The Boilermakers are also coming off a turnaround season, and there are many storylines viewers can focus on.
