Purdue freshman WR David Bell added to national watch list
Purdue freshman David Bell is earning some national recognition for his play through the first half of the college football season.
Wednesday morning, Purdue announced that the freshman wide receiver was added to the Biletnikoff Award Watch List, presented to the best receiver in college football. He earned the honor after a monstrous performance against Iowa on Saturday, totaling 197 yards and a touchdown on 13 receptions.
It marked the third time this season Bell has totaled over 100 yards receiving in a game.

Bell also had 138 yards and two touchdown grabs against Maryland two weeks ago. He’s been named the B1G Freshman of the Week in back-to-back weeks for his outstanding performances.
His other 100-yard outing came against Minnesota, catching eight passes for 114 yards.
Through seven games, Bell has totaled 635 receiving yards, the second-highest total in the B1G, behind only Michigan State’s Darrell Stewart (683). He also has four touchdown receptions, tied for sixth in the conference.
Purdue is back in action this weekend against Illinois.
