Speed kills.

We’ve all heard the saying. And, we see it each fall.

No matter the team, everybody seems to have a speedster. There is always one player — even though they may not be the most talented guy on the field — that can take the top off of a defense.

Consider Marcellus Moore, a Class of 2020 all-purpose back, to be that guy. On Saturday, Moore chose the Purdue Boilermakers to continue his academic and athletic career:

Moore is considered a 3-star prospect by 247Sports. He held offers from Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois and others, but would up choosing the Boilermakers. He is from Plainfield, Ill. and measures at 5-6.5 and weighs 149 pounds.

So, why should we consider Moore to be that type of blazing fast guy at the next level? Just look at what he’s done in high school.

To this point, Moore ran a 4.35 40-yard dash at a The Opening Regional and ran a 10.3 in the 100-meter dash this year. For those that don’t know, that’s quick. Like, really quick.

Moore won both the 100- and 200-meter dashes at the Illinois State Championships the past two years. Again, he’s not even done with his high school career at this point. More hardware is likely to come for Moore on the track field.

It has also been noted by 247Sports that Moore intends on participating in both football and track at Purdue.
