It took just two days for Purdue to land its first commitment in the month of July.
Tuesday morning, the Boilermakers received a verbal pledge from three-star linebacker Ryan Brandt, an in-state product from Angola, Indiana. He becomes the 11th player to join Purdue’s 2020 class.

Brandt is just the second player from the state of Indiana to commit to the 2020 class, joining offensive lineman Gus Hartwig.
A 6-foot-1, 200-pound linebacker, Brandt is ranked as the No. 15 player out of the state and is listed as the No. 84 outside linebacker of the cycle. He held 10 offers, choosing Purdue over Ball State, Air Force, Central Michigan and Navy.
With Brandt’s commitment, Purdue owns the B1G’s No. 10 class and sits 45th in the national rankings.
