Purdue continues to show Tyler Trent’s family just how much of an impact the young man had on the football program and the rest of the Boilermaker community.

The university plans to honor Trent in a number of ways, and the football team recently revealed another way they’ll pay tribute to his memory. On Friday, Purdue announced it will supply the Trent Family with a Music City Bowl ring from its postseason trip last year.

One side of the ring will have the Music City Bowl logo, and the opposite side will read the name “Trent.” The face of the ring will have the Purdue locomotive logo with the words “Tyler Strong,” which was the phrase used throughout West Lafayette — and the country — to show support for Trent.

Purdue is also currently reconstructing the entrance to its student gate at Ross-Ade Stadium in Trent’s honor. It will be known as the Tyler Trent Student Gate, and will also feature a plaque detailing his story and impact.

The university will reveal the new gate 30 minutes before Ross-Ade Stadium opens its doors for the first time in 2019 on Sept. 7. The Boilermakers host Vanderbilt for the first home game of the season.
