Purdue has landed one of the Top 100 players in the 2022 recruiting class.

The Boilermakers received a verbal pledge from 4-star small forward Camden Heide, a native of Minneapolis. The 95th-ranked player in the 2022 cycle made his announcement with a post on Twitter on Tuesday.

“Boiler Up. Committed,” Heide wrote to make his announcement.

The 6-foot-5 Heide ranks as the No. 4 player out of the state of Minnesota and is the No. 23 small forward in the class, per 247Sports Composite Rankings. He received offers from several big-time programs, including Arizona, Iowa, Creighton, Minnesota, Nebraska, Marquette, Ohio State, Texas, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

From 247Sports director of basketball scouting Jerry Meyer:

A quality shooter off catch or dribble. Can make one shots off either foot in the mid-range when attacking. Also has post up game. Has strength but limited lateral quickness. More of a straight ahead athlete who jumps best off one foot when attacking the rim. Uses his body well on offense. Can finish with either hand. Has room to improve motor as a defender and rebounder.

Heide becomes the third player in the 2022 class to commit to Purdue. The Boilers also have pledges from 4-star shooting guard Fletcher Loyer and unranked point guard Braden Smith.

Purdue’s class currently ranks 18th nationally and No. 3 in the B1G.
