Nothing is ever a given when it comes to college football. On Saturday, Purdue shocked the College Football world by upsetting No. 2 Iowa on the road 24-7.
Before the win over Iowa, Purdue had twice as many wins over top-two ranked opponents as unranked teams than any other program in the nation. With the win Saturday, Purdue now has nine wins over top-two ranked wins as an unranked team.

The last time Iowa defeated a top-two ranked opponent as a ranked program was in the 2018 season when they defeated the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes 49-20. That was a key factor that kept Ohio State out of the College Football Playoff. The last time Purdue defeated a top-two team on the road as an unranked team was in 1974 when the Boilermakers stunned No. 2 Notre Dame 31-20 in South Bend.
With this tough road loss to Purdue, Iowa looks like a long-shot to be make the College Football Playoff, even if they win the B1G. Purdue looks to be an official chaos creator in the B1G.
