Purdue might be the owners of the B1G’s worst loss this bowl season, and the Music City Bowl is only at halftime.

Auburn absolutely embarrassed the Boilermakers in the first half of Friday’s game, taking a 56-7 lead into halftime. The B1G entered the game 2-0 this postseason, but that record is going to drop to 2-1.

The Tigers racked up nearly 400 yards of total offense in the first two quarters, and also recorded two turnovers in 30 minutes. They also set a record for the most points scored in Music City Bowl history, surpassing the 49 points scored by West Virginia in 2000.

Again, all of that happened in 30 minutes.

Purdue finished the season 6-6 and notched impressive wins over Ohio State, Boston College and Iowa this season. Clearly, the Boilermakers weren’t prepared for the talent and speed that Auburn possesses.

While Purdue was far from being one of the great teams in college football, this first half performance was uglier than anyone could’ve imagined.
