A 6-foot-1 junior defender for the Grizzlies, Hampton had 51 total tackles, 9 pass breakups, and 7 interceptions for Adams State this season. He also had a forced fumble and a sack.

Hampton was a 2017 recruit out of Las Vegas.

Purdue went 8-4 this season. It’s preparing for Tennessee in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30. The strong year for the Boilermakers had a lot to do with the offensive explosiveness for coach Jeff Brohm, but the defense had its own bright moments. Purdue gave up the 4th-fewest passing touchdowns in the league this season and had the third-most interceptions of any Big Ten team.

Hampton will join the room looking to compete for playing time next season.
