With Purdue’s 2020 recruiting class all but finished, the Boilermakers are starting to look ahead to prospects in the 2021 cycle. And on Thursday, Jeff Brohm landed a verbal pledge.

Jaelin Alstott-VanDeVanter, a 6-foot-7, 260-pound offensive lineman out of Mooresville, Indiana, announced his verbal commitment to Purdue on Thursday via Twitter. He becomes the second player in the 2021 recruiting cycle to pledge to the Boilermakers.

VanDevanter has taken recent visits to both Purdue and Indiana, and was also considering Cincinnati, according to 247Sports. While he doesn’t currently have any rankings, he is listed as a three-star prospect.

Purdue has just one other verbal commitment in the 2021 recruiting class, Preston Terrell, a three-star wide receiver. He is also an Indiana product, hailing from Brownsburg.

The Boilermakers had another solid year on the recruiting trail in 2020, and are currently ranked 30th in the nation and seventh in the B1G.
