Purdue is seeing another player enter the NCAA transfer portal.

On Tuesday, redshirt freshman defensive back Byron Perkins announced via Twitter that he plans to leave Purdue and explore his opportunities elsewhere. He becomes the fourth player this week to decide to leave the Boilermakers.

“I appreciate the opportunity I’ve received here at Purdue,” Perkins wrote. “The relationships and memories I have made here will live on with me forever. Again, I am thankful for the opportunity but it’s time to go be great somewhere else! I have officially entered the transfer portal and I am reopening my recruitment.”

Perkins was a member of Purdue’s 2018 recruiting class and was a three-star defensive back out of Chicago. He did not see the field much while in West Lafayette during his two seasons.

If it’s in his best interest, Perkins could choose to return to Purdue. However, based on his message on Twitter, it’s unlikely that he’ll be back with the Boilermakers.

Over the last five days, defensive end Giovanni Reviere, defensive tackle Alex Criddle and defensive back Tyler Hamilton have all decided to leave the program.

The Boilermakers finished the season 4-8.
