Purdue nabs late pledge from in-state ATH previously committed to Navy
Purdue has made a late addition to its 2021 recruiting class.
Wednesday morning, the Boilermakers received a pledge from 3-star, in-state athlete Devin Mockobee. He had previously committed to Navy but decided to play college football a little closer to home.
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to Purdue University,” Mockobee wrote. “It’s been a long road but I’ve been blessed with the opportunity at my dream school. So I can’t wait to see what the future holds as Boilermakers.”

Mockobee is a native of Boonville, Indiana and is ranked just outside the Top 25 players in the state, coming in at No. 26 per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He also held an offer from in-state Valparaiso.
Mockobee inititally committed to Navy in July 2020.
Purdue’s 2021 recruiting class was at the bottom of the B1G, finishing last in the conference and No. 77 nationally. It is the program’s lowest-rated class under head coach Jeff Brohm.
