It’s official, Ron English is heading to West Lafayette.

Purdue announced that English has officially joined Jeff Brohm’s staff for the 2021 season. He will be the cornerbacks coach, joining the Boilermakers after spending the past three seasons coaching the safeties at Florida.

English brings nearly 30 years of coaching experience to West Lafayette, including stops at Arizona State (1998-2002), Michigan (2003-07), Louisville (2008), Mississippi State (2017) and Florida (2018-20) as a defensive assistant.

He was also the head coach at Eastern Michigan from 2009-13.

After a tough defensive season for Purdue in 2020, Brohm decided to make some changes to the staff. Most notably, the Boilermakers have hired Brad Lambert to be the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach and Mark Hagen will return to West Lafayette to coach the defensive line.

English is the most recently staff member to officially join Purdue.

The Boilermakers are coming off a 2-4 season in 2020, ending the year on a four-game losing streak after a 2-0 start.
