Purdue overcomes double-digit halftime deficit to shock Michigan State with last-second shot
Purdue defeated Michigan State 55-54 on Friday night, overcoming a 15-point halftime deficit to shock the Spartans at home in East Lansing.
The Boilermakers out-scored MSU 39-23 after halftime thanks to a huge performance from forward Trevion Williams. He finished the game with 26 points, nine rebounds and two assists.
Other than Williams, no other Purdue players registered more than seven points or six rebounds.
Williams scored 22 of his 26 points after halftime, including a mid-range jumper with 4.5 seconds remaining to give the Boilermakers the lead.

Michigan State moves to 8-4 on the season following that uninspiring effort. Aaron Henry led the way with 13 points and seven rebounds. Joshua Langford was the only other Spartan to score in double figures.
Despite being ranked, Michigan State currently sits in 11th place in the Big Ten with a 2-4 conference record.
Purdue is now 3-3 in conference play and tied for 5th place.
