Purdue Athletics announced on Wednesday that several tributes will be planned to honor the late Joe Tiller during Saturday’s game against Minnesota.

The Boilermakers will sport helmets replicating the ones worn during the Tiller era (1997-2008) on Saturday. The helmets will also have a special sticker that pays tribute to the coach who past away last weekend.

A moment of silence will also be held prior to kickoff and a special video tribute honoring Tiller will be played at halftime on the Ross-Ade Stadium video board. Here are the other events planned for this weekend, per PurdueSports.com

  • During the first media timeout of the first quarter, board of trustees chairman Mike Berghoff and athletics director Mike Bobinski will present Tiller’s son, Michael, and his family, with a commemorative football
  • Members of the 1997 team, Tiller’s first at Purdue, will be recognized during the second media timeout of the third quarter.
  •  Tiller will be featured on the cover and inside the official gameday program.

Tiller died last week at the age of 74. He coached at Purdue for 12 seasons, leading the Boilermakers to 10 bowl games and a B1G title in 2000.

He retired as the program’s all-time winningest coach in 2008.
