Iowa is in trouble at halftime with Purdue taking a 14-7 lead into the break in Iowa City.

The Boilermakers are coming out of a bye week and have looked great on both sides of the ball. QB Aidan O’Connell is 15-for-21 throwing the ball with 189 yards and 2 total touchdowns.

His second touchdown came on a short touchdown throw to T.J. Sheffield late in the first half. It gave Purdue the cushion at halftime:

Tyler Goodson does have 64 yards rushing as the Hawkeyes nearly hit 100  yards on the ground at the break. The issues that have hurt Iowa are an interception thrown by Spencer Petras and a chip-shot missed field goal deep in Purdue territory.

Not counting the end of the half possession, both teams had just 4 offensive possessions to work with. If Iowa is going to avoid the upset, the Hawkeyes will need to make the most out of every time they have the ball.
