Purdue RB King Doerue appears ready to play vs. No. 2 Iowa
Purdue running back King Doerue was working out during pregame warmups for the Boilermakers game with Iowa on Saturday.
As expected, RB King Doerue warming up. Jeff Brohm said Thursday he expected the junior to play. Good sign for a thin RB unit.

That’s good news for Purdue fans. Doerue missed the Purdue 13-9 victory over Illinois, and was listed as a game-time decision leading up to the Boilermakers game with Minnesota in Week 5. Doerue ran for a career-high 95 yards on 21 carries during the 20-13 loss to the Gophers.
The Boilermakers have been plagued by injuries this season, with Zander Horvath, Payne Durham, David Bell and Doerue all offensive players that have missed at least one game this season, with all of them being considered starters.
Purdue is coming off a bye week and are sitting on a 3-2 record — 1-1 in the Big Ten. They face their toughest challenge of the season so far today in Iowa City against the undefeated Hawkeyes.
