Purdue reportedly set to lose elite pass rusher to transfer portal
Purdue suffered a big blow to its 2024 roster on Tuesday morning.
According to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman, the Boilermakers are set to lose star pass rusher Nic Scourton to the transfer portal. Scourton led the Big Ten in sacks this past season with 10. He was also a team captain for the Boilermakers.
Scourton will likely receive interest from several elite programs across college football.
In addition to his 10 sacks, Scourton finished the year with 15 tackles for loss and 50 total tackles in 11 games. He was also credited with 3 pass deflections and 1 forced fumble this season.
Scourton is originally from Bryan, Texas. He joined Purdue as a 4-star recruit in the class of 2022. He was the No. 207 overall player in that cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Scourton will now look to transfer with an eye on potentially entering the 2025 NFL Draft. He will have 2 years of collegiate eligibility remaining at his next destination.
