Purdue is coming off of a 9-win campaign and bowl win in the 2021 season. As a result, the excitement around the program is at a high level heading into 2022.

According to Tom Dienhart with GoldandBlack.com, the season ticket sales of the Boilermakers are at the highest mark since 2008. That year marked the last season for legendary coach Joe Tiller with the program.

Dienhart cited numbers from Tom Moreland, Purdue’s Senior Associate Athletics Director – Strategic Initiatives/Chief Revenue Officer.  To this point, Purdue has sold over 36,000 season tickets. That number includes over 4,600 new season tickets for the 2022 season.

“Pretty exciting times,” said Moreland. “All credit goes to our fans, the leadership, coaching staff and student-athletes.”

After back-to-back losing seasons from 2019-20, the Boilermakers broke through with 9 wins and a thrilling bowl win over Tennessee. The season also included upsets over Iowa and Michigan State.

Now, Purdue will try to follow up on the excitement of 2021 and establish some consistency within the program.
