Purdue sees RB hit NCAA transfer portal

Purdue will be down a running back for the rest of the season. 2021 ATH/running back Ja’Quez Cross is departing the program and entering the transfer portal.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pound freshman didn’t appear in any games for Purdue this season.

Cross arrived at Purdue as a three-star prospect and the No. 11 player from Arkansas according to 247Sports. During a senior season of high school in which he guided his team to a state title, Cross tallied 872 rushing yards, 20 rushing touchdowns, 751 receiving yards and nine receiving touchdowns.

Purdue is 6-4 overall and third place in the B1G West. The Boilermakers are coming off a 59-31 defeat vs. No. 4 Ohio State. Next up for Purdue is a home contest vs. Northwestern on Nov. 20 (12 p.m. EST/BTN).
