Purdue graduate and super fan Tyler Trent has inspired a nation with the strength and courage he continues to fight with as he battles cancer. And now, Trent’s message has reached the White House.

According to the Indianapolis Star, President Donald Trump sent a letter and an American flag to Trent. He also received a care package that included a signed picture of Susan Brooks, Indiana’s 5th District representative in Congress.

Trent has received several awards and honors recently as he continues to battle cancer and support cancer research. Last week, he was named the winner of the Disney Spirit Award and was presented with the honor at The Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN.

From President Trump’s letter:

Dear Tyler,

Melania and I were moved by the courage and determination you have demonstrated over the course of your illness. Please know that we are keeping you and your loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.

As you face this challenge, we hope that you continue to find comfort and strength in your faith, family, and friends. The resolve and tenacity you have demonstrated during this brave battle are inspiring. Please know that we are ALL Tyler Strong! May God bless you.

Trent has gained popularity and support for his courageous battle with cancer and his ongoing support to push for cancer research.  He’s become a fixture in the Purdue community and has reached the lives of millions of people across the country.
