Purdue is going to be short a defensive back in their mega-matchup against Notre Dame on Saturday.

According to Tom Dienhart, cornerback Cory Trice will not be in the lineup. He was seen wearing his jersey and jeans on the sideline during warmups.

Trice went down in practice earlier in the week and it’s unclear how long he will be out for. He’s started in both of the Boilermakers’ 2 wins this season and has 4 total tackles. He’s expected to be replaced by Jamari Brown in the starting lineup.

Trice is coming off one of his best seasons in 2020, as he finished with 32 total tackles (28 solo) with 2 passes defended. He also had a great season in 2019 as well as he finished with 35 total tackles (29 solo) with 3 interceptions, 1 of them being a pick-6.

The game will be televised by Peacock and NBC as it’s about to get underway.
